I have known George, Dan, Dave and the crew up at Central Cylinder since 2002 and have flown behind many of their certified and experimental engines over the years. I have always been impressed by the depth of knowledge of the Czarnecki family, as well as the personal interest in each project that comes through the door. Your engine or parts that go through Central Cylinder for work will get the attention of a true engine enthusiast and efficiency of true professionalism every time. I recently had the pleasure of experiencing examples of this first hand when I was able to help with the owner assist Overhaul of my Lycoming AEIO-360 for my Pitts S1. I always enjoy the opportunity to walk around the shop to see what they have going, and learning something new from each of the guys at Central Cylinder.

Whether you have a magneto that needs a little tweaking, a set of cylinders that need honing, or your engine started making metal and you need the whole shebang, you will be extremely pleased with the quality of work and efficiency of the Central Cylinder crew. All while supporting a wonderful family business grown in the USA.

Of course it is very important in any aircraft engine to be able to have confidence and trust in your engine shop. In my application of aerobatics, the need is even more acute. I trust my engines and life to the experts at Central Cylinder.”

I’ve flown “behind” their engines for thousands of hours…in “Comanche’s” and “Mustangs”. You can depend on them.”

“I have known George Czarnecki since 1972, first meeting him as an aircraft mechanic.  Later George started Central Cylinder out of an old single car garage in his back yard.  At the time he was flying as captain, full time for Bell telephone in the Falcon and Citation jets Bell operated.  During this time Central Cylinder was effectively open evenings and weekends. The first shop/garage was quite simple with minimum equipment like an old lathe (he still has it) he had modified to grind cylinders. Also, I recall an old kitchen oven George used when heating up cylinders which was necessary to install valve seats, guides or in the case of Franklin engines, sleeves.  I am very proud to say I was Central Cylinders very first customer after certification by the FAA became effective installing that first set of cylinders on my C90 powered Luscombe. Today, Central Cylinder has evolved into a complete, modern well equipped piston engine overhaul facility. There is very little Central sends out for rework with the exception of perhaps the plating of hardware.  I don’t believe there is an overhaul shop in the world who does a better, higher quality overhaul. From the A 65 to the 300 Continental to the geared Lycomings and Merlins and Allisons, George and the people at Central have shown me consistent high quality results.”

“I have known George Czarnecki since he was a “corporate pilot” sensing that there must
be more to aviation than flying from A to B.

Hence I watched his idea, Central Cylinder, grow to what we see today.   George and his
family through Central Cylinder have demonstrated the capability of taking runout or trashed engines, old or state of the art power plants, C-65 Continentals thru vintage V-12s, and put them back into pristine, dependable working condition.

If you can ever tour the Central Cylinder facilities, you will view state of the art machinery and talented, experienced personnel at work.

Considering the above mentioned, you will certainly send your next engine requiring
attention to Central Cylinder, as I have done for many years.”

Sincerely,
Harry O. Barr
